Shahi Tukra





Ingredients:
  • Bread: 4 slices cut into triangles

Ghee: Enough for deep frying the bread pieces
Grated Almonds: +/- 200gm
Strands of Kesar( saffron)
Sugar: 300 gms for making sugar syrup
Condensed milk: 1 small tin
Methods:
Cut the bread slices into triangles and deep fry them in hot ghee until crispy golden brown in medium heat.  Soak the extra ghee in a kitchen towel and keep them aside.
Make thick sugar syrup by adding sugar in boiling water. Let it cool. Soak the fried bread pieces in thick sugar syrup for 10 mins. The syrup should not be watery to make the bread pieces wet. It should form a sticky texture just to brush the bread pieces.
Take the soaked bread pieces out from the syrup and brush in little more ghee.
Garnish with condensed milk, saffron strands and grated almonds
